Harlow Council

Since June 2013 Planet Aid UK have been working with Harlow Council to increase the number of textile bank sites in the townSince June 2013 Planet Aid UK have been working with Harlow Council to increase the number of textile bank sites in the town.
We currently collect clothes and shoes from seven sites in Harlow and our contract with them is to service the containers weekly, clear any rubbish from around the site, report tonnage figures to them monthly and to maintain the condition of the containers. We also provide a 48 hour response time to react to reports of full or damaged clothing banks, whilst actively looking for additional suitable sites within Harlow which would improve our service to the council.
Harlow Council are very proactive in dealing with bogus textile collectors within their area and in 2015 both they and Planet Aid UK were asked to participate in a BBC television programme called Fake Britain which highlighted the impact these unscrupulous organisations have on legitimate collectors and their charity partners.

If you are a resident within the Harlow Council area and would like to report a full Planet Aid UK clothing bank, or to find out the location of one nearest to you, then please call us on 01536-400721.
