In 2011 Planet Aid UK agreed to provide funding to the Corby Community Food Co-operative by donating a percetage of the funds raised from the clothes collection bank at Stuart Road Community Centre where the organisation is based. The Co-operative was launched by Mayor Gail McDade at the centre’s first big event, Apple Day Festival on Friday 15th October, 2011 which Planet Aid UK attended. Their aim is to provide good, local, seasonal food at reasonable prices for local residents who will be able to order food on a weekly basis, as well as having the opportunity to attend related events such as cookery demonstrations and workshops on sustainable living.
Also in 2011 Planet Aid UK became the proud shirt sponsor of Stewarts and Lloyds RFC whose shirts now display our logo on the back.
