Close to our Head Office/Sorting Centre in Corby we have a small workshop in which we manufacture a community bank for our own use, and also carry out the refurbishment of existing containers as part of an on-going maintenance programme. Our unique community bank is approximately one metre square, has a new, more secure locking system and is ideal for those sites which have a limited amount of available space. By placing this small bank Planet Aid UK supports local businesses, allowing everyone, even people that don't drive, to donate their clothes at their local shop. The community bank is manufactured solely for use by Planet Aid UK and is not available for sale.

 We employ 2/3 experienced workmen in the workshop who are responsible for the manufacture and refurbishment of approximately 500 clothing banks per year. It is a production which raises funds for projects in Africa and India, but it is also a good learning environment for Development Instructors (as our volunteers are called), who will work with the production of rope pumps in Africa. Their skills will be much needed, and appreciated.
