HIV/Aids Prevention Project - Hope:

Planet Aid UK has supported Hope Projects in India with donations of almost £20,000. Humana People to People India currently implements four such projects including two in Delhi, one in Rajasthan and another in Haryana.

India has the highest number of persons living with HIV/AIDS in the world today, with 2.1 million people tested positive, but taking the total population of 1.21 billion into consideration, the overall prevalence remains low.

The HOPE India projects are working along the policy of the National Aids Control Organisation, with focus on reaching the most vulnerable groups in the society. The projects provide information on HIV/AIDS prevention, assistance with access to health services such as STI/STD (Sexually Transmitted Diseases) treatment, HIV testing and referral services, if necessary.
